CHS-MC is very excited to invite your family to join us in an evening of community, learning and fun! We will provide dinner, the opportunity to learn from each other, and a chance to enjoy the Golf Dome!

Our guest speaker and facilitator for the evening is Julia Sek, BScN. Julia is currently a clinical consultant for Baxter. She is also a former nurse in hemophilia care from Ontario. Julia, in conjunction with our Manitoba nurses will facilitate the following sessions.

About Me – Caring for Someone with a Bleeding Disorder
This session is for adults caring for people with bleeding disorder and the impact of the bleeding disorder on their lives. This interactive session will include:

  • Defining and exploring stressors
  • Identify strategies and support
  • Consider factors that influence healthy living and coping
  • Explore opportunities to utilize new information and resources

About Me – Living with My Bleeding Disorder
This session is for chapter members from ages 7 to 17. These young members with bleeding disorders will explore what it is like for them to live with their bleeding disorder. This interactive session will include:

  • Exploring what a bleeding disorder means to them and the impact on their life
  • Identify steps in making a plan that will help with their bleeding disorder
  • Consider ways/ decisions that help lead to healthy choices
  • Through use of case scenarios, explore opportunities to demonstrate to the adults in their lives that they have good plans/problem solving skills

All members have the chance to play the 18-hole mini golf and adults and teens can try the virtual golf or play pool after the education sessions. Children must be supervised by an adult. Supper and education sessions will take place in the private lounge area.
