The Canadian Hemophilia Society, Manitoba Chapter (CHS-MC) is monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and the concerns about the upcoming Gala Dinner. CHS-MC is working with our partners at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Winnipeg and our guest chefs to ensure the safety of our 208 guests as we move forward with the Gala Dinner scheduled for Saturday March 14th. We will continue to monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and access government agencies for guidance. If there are any changes we will post them on the Gala website and our Chapter website

We are asking registered Gala guests who are not feeling well, not to attend. Information about how to avoid transmission of COVOD-19 and who is at risk of a more severe outcome from COVID-19, please visit Government of Canada. Make an informed choice to attend or not from the information from the Government of Manitoba, as well.

From Delta Hotels By Marriott Winnipeg:

The well-being of our guests and associates is of paramount importance. We take standards for hygiene and cleanliness very seriously. Our leadership team is closely monitoring the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO) and local health department updates regarding COVID-19 and following their recommendations on the appropriate health and safety measures. We have well-established hygiene standards and daily cleaning procedures for all parts of the hotel to address both general cleanliness and disinfection. In addition, it is our standard practice to provide ongoing guidance to our hotel teams to promote safety and well-being through awareness, training and the use of everyday preventative practices.

If you are a registered Gala guest and unable to attend on Saturday March 14th, please contact the Chapter office by email at and we will be in touch the week of the 15th to sort out how to manage your ticket purchase as we strive to meet the needs of our supporters.
