The Step Up and Reach Out Program an international leadership program designed to help build tomorrow’s leaders in the bleeding disorders community. The program was created by the University of Texas Health Science Center, Gulf States Hemophilia and Thrombophilia Center (UTHS) in 2007 and is administered by the Lone Star Chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation, with support from Bayer HealthCare. To date, the Step Up Reach Out program has trained nearly 90 individuals from more than 20 countries.

Young people selected for the program will join others from all over the world in receiving specialized, hands-on training and coaching to foster their leadership skills. There is no cost to participants or their families for Step Up Reach Out travel, accommodation or program expenses, other than obtaining passports and visas (if applicable).

Now candidates can apply online at www.StepUpReachOut.net .  The website contains a complete application packet, which includes a program application, information, qualifications and instructions for writing an essay.  We encourage candidates to apply via the website as this will significantly streamline the process for them. The application form on the website can be completed online, saved, and attached to an email for submission.  The application materials are also available to print and send into the program for those who prefer that option.

The application deadline for this year is June 1st.
