Sustainability Task Force

Research ImageThe Canadian Hemophilia Society, Manitoba Chapter (CHS-MC) is a charitable organization that serves Manitobans managing inherited bleeding disorders. CHS-MC provides over 500 Manitobans and their families with direct services, education, programs and advocacy. CHS-MC will be celebrating 50 years of service to Manitobans with inherited bleeding disorders in 2015.

As with most small grass roots not-for-profit organizations, attracting funding that allows CHS-MC to provide programs and services, is becoming increasingly difficult. CHS-MC is not an agency of the United Way, nor do we get any government support. CHS-MC relies on donations, grants from our pharmaceutical partners to support education programs and three special event fundraisers to maintain our activities.

The CHS-MC Board does not currently have the skill set to do the research needed to explore various fundraising strategies that will provide financial sustainability to support the work of CHS-MC. CHS-MC is looking for skilled volunteers to sit on a Sustainability Task Force that will research potential revenue sources, additional to current special event fundraising. The Sustainability Task Force will make a recommendation to the Board upon the completion of their research. This is a research project only. No fundraising is involved.

CHS-MC has created a Terms of Reference for the Sustainability Task Force and a volunteer job description. The Task Force will be supported by the CHS-MC Executive Director and the CHS-MC Board President. We hope to attract volunteers who have experience in grant writing, fundraising, or who may be pursuing post-secondary education in a related field.
