Third Weekend Workshop for Youth with Bleeding Disorders

Are you between 18-25 years old interested in making a difference in your chapter while building your professional and social skills?

Mark your calendar for October 15th – 17th, 2010. This 3rd edition will focus on making smart choices about careers, sports, nutrition, and much more….

The workshop will take place at the Delta Meadowvale, Ontario. Spaces are limited. Only 25 candidates will be able to take advantage of this opportunity. Make sure to be one of them.

Rare Bleeding Disorders Workshop

The CHS will be hosting a western regional workshop for people affected by a rare bleeding disorder to take place November 5-7, 2010 in Vancouver. The goal of the workshop will be to provide adult patients, or parents of a child, who are living with a rare factor deficiency (FI, FII, FV, FVII, FX, FXI, FXIII) or a platelet function disorder (e.g. Glanzmann Thrombasthenia, Bernard-Soulier Syndrome), an opportunity to meet with others in similar circumstances and to gain new information about the management of their disorder during the different life stages.

Members who are interested in attending the workshop need to request an application form the Manitoba Chapter. Applications are then returned to the chapter for consideration for sponsorship. The deadline for applications is October 14th.

Volunteers Needed for Upcoming Garage Sale

The Chapter Gala Committee is looking for help sorting and pricing the garage sale items on Saturday, September 18th from 1 pm to 4 pm. Please call the office at 775-8625 if you can come on Saturday.

We are looking for volunteers to come set-up the garage sale, to work at the sale and to help with closing the sale on Sunday, September 19th. Set-up starts at 8 am and the sale runs from 9 am to 2 pm. We are usually done one hour after closing the sale. If you can come for a while, anytime during the day, please call the office at 775-8625.

The committee is very grateful to all the members who have already made donations. The office is getting really full! We can always use more. If you'd like to donate baking to the "goodies" table at the sale, we will gratefully accept those donations after September 15th.

Thanks again to all the members who have already made donations. It will be a great sale!

Chapter Garage Sale - Donations Wanted

The Gala Dinner Committee is hosting a Chapter Garage Sale on Sunday, September 19th. The sale will be located in the parking lot behind the office at 944 Portage Ave. We will be taking donations for the sale. Please call the office if you have anything to drop off to be sure the office is open. The 2009 garage sale raised over $900!
